Guides to New Jersey

Frank Sinatra grew up here. Bruce Springsteen waxed poetic over his youth here. It is home to the most expensive and productive farmland in America. Because of its integral and strategic position within the growing Megalopolis of the Eastern Seaboard, New Jersey has developed a huge manufacturing and refining base. Chemicals and chemical products are the dominant industries.

As a result, you might expect New Jersey to be the most prodigiously polluted state in the country, chock full of illegal waste dumps and clandestine disposal operations. You would be right. But for once the state legislature did something smart and passed the most stringent anti-pollution laws in the country. That's right, in the country. Its remaining forest, marshland, and other natural habitats are all under some form of environmental protection, too. As for culture? There's always Princeton or Atlantic City (look, everyone has unique ideas about what constitutes culture); and don't forget, New York City is just moments away.
